Product junkie much? I know I was for a good minute (with a slight possibility of some leftover LOL), especially since I was going from relaxed hair, to texlaxed and now having transitioned to pretty much all natural (still cutting relaxed ends off as I go along). You know that search for the perfect products to achieve your desired protective styles or any style should I say? Well this is how my love for beauty subscription service began.
I admit I did find a few gems in the midst of all the samples, deluxe and full sized products (that Adore Botanicals Scalp Nectar is the first that comes to mind, I so need to get another bottle of it!) but for the most part my sample and hair product stash was becoming out of control. When I moved last Summer I gave away so much just to get rid of it; out of site, out of mind right?!
For this reason alone I had to cancel my subscription box services. It just became a bit overwhelming. I actually enjoyed getting new stuff every month. Shoot, don’t let it be like a product takeover box where one brand basically sponsors the full box. This was how I got to try the Creme of Nature with Argan Oil Curls range and was even restocked on some favorites from their Straight From Eden line too. Best believe I was all here for it!

As I shared in yesterday’s post Influenster will hook you up for Free 99 so be sure to head over there to sign up as well. Yet in still if you’re looking to subscribe to a new beauty subscription service, I have some that you should consider.
CurlKit $20/month plus $5 Shipping & Handling
Curlkit was actually one of my favorites so I wanted to start here. Whenever I received my Curlkit of the month, the box was always busting apart because they would fill them up with all types of goodies. A perfect combination of full size and samples or deluxed sized hair care products, Curlkit had hooked us up with items from some popular hair products from LottaBody, Shea Moisture, Curls, Eden BodyWorks and even put us on to new brands and products like that scalp oil I was talking about earlier.
Scentbird $14.95/month FREE Shipping
Being the fragrance fanatic that I am, Scentbird is definitely a good choice when looking for a beauty subscription service. How many times have you bought a full sized perfume that you thought you loved only to find out it doesn’t really work with your body chemistry? How much did you flush down the toilet $40, $60 or even more?
That’s why I LOVE the Scentbird concept. You get a 30 day supply of the scent of your choice (or you can just go along with their scent of the month option). It’s the perfect size for on the go or to throw in your bag and touch up whenever you want. They’ve even expanded into Men’s colognes and offer a la carte services where you can rack up on just the refills to make sure your Scentbird carrier is never empty. With over 450 designer fragrances to choose from you can restock on your favorite scent or try something new without the full commitment of a full bottle!

Cocotique $20/month FREE Shipping
Known as the best beauty box for women of color, COCOTIQUE offers a good mixture of hair care, skin care as well as cosmetics for you to try out. You can get anywhere from 5-8 full and deluxe size products monthly. On top of that with every subscription order you also receive a year’s membership to Essence magazine for no additional cost! And if you click my affiliate banner up above I can even save you 10% on your first box (Code: BOX10).
I’ve raved about COCOTIQUE numerous times here on the blog as well as on my channel so feel free to check out all the goodies I’ve received from them in the past. From time to time they offer a Mega Beauty Box that cost twice as much as the normal subscription. Don’t feel no type of way though, it’s definitely work it. The Mega boxes usually include all full sized products that are valued at way more than that $40.
Technically, I personally was never subscribed to Glossybox. In fact, the box you see above was sent to me for review purposes last Summer and I never got around to doing it. As explained in a Mind Right Monday, it was a very stressful and eventful time when I received this package.
In fact, it wasn’t until after I moved that I took this photo and realized I had another sample of one of my favorite mascaras; the Roller Lash from Benefit Cosmetics. With Glossybox I find that touch of elegance from the way the items are packaged and presented to even it’s actual contents. (is Glossybox bad and bougee?) Each month you will receive 5 beauty items that range from skincare, haircare and/or cosmetics that you’ll get a great value for your money.

#MorpheMe by LiveGlam $20/month FREE Shipping
Currently #MorpheMe is the only subscription service company that I am still subscribed too. As a beauty junkie I feel you can never have too many makeup brushes. If you know Morphe, you know they’re an affordable beauty brand that has quality products. Well the majority of the brushes that I use now come from Morphe thanks to the #MorpheMe subscription.
#MorpheMe offers $30 worth of brushes for only $20 plus gives you bonus points where you can earn even more brushes (among other things) for free. Their range of eye and faced brushes vary from different levels and they do a really good job as curating the different monthly selections. Pretty recently as a bonus, they sent us a bonus of their newly released blending sponge (which I absolutely love by the way). I have been enjoying my #MorpheMe subscription and don’t intend on cancelling anytime soon. Be sure to head over to the Kay’s Ways YouTube channel to check out my most recent shipment from last month.
Ipsy $10/month (+tax) FREE Shipping
It’s been forever since I’ve been subscribed to Ipsy but I can’t say I’m not tempted to go back. This was the first beauty subscription service that I was subscribed to. At that time they were still pretty new on the scene and back then I didn’t think that the products were offering what I was looking for. Well believe you me, Ipsy has stepped it all the way up!
Ipsy now offers products from GlamGlow, Tarte, NYX Cosmetics, Luxie Beauty and more! The best thing yet, it’s the most affordable beauty subscription service that I am aware of. So don’t be surprised if you see an upcoming Ipsy Unboxing or Haul coming real soon. Everytime I see my girl Beauty With Mika post her Ipsy haul I’m kicking myself for not rejoining. UPDATE = Literally rejoined yesterday LOL so stay tuned to this blog for the upcoming deets
