I’ve spoke with you guys before of how I suffer from eczema still as an adult. Over the years, my dermatologist has always said that I would outgrow it but still here I am well into my 30’s prone to an eczema breakout on my face as well as the crevices of my arms and behind my legs. Now as I’m older, my insurance no longer covers prescription medication to treat my eczema so I was left to find an over the counter alternative to prevent breakouts.

A lot of the over the counter options on the market contain steroids or coal and pine tars which over time I don’t really want my skin to become dependent on. But without it my skin would become irritated with red bumps or flaky dry skin that itches like hell. Especially now that the warmer weather is coming.  Not to mention the fact that it just doesn’t look cute.  I’ve definitely come a long way because I can remember back in the days not even wanting to wear short sleeves just to hide the irritation and break outs.

derma e is well known in the skincare community for their 100% natural, vegan, cruelty and paraben free products. derma e specializes in combining vitamins and plants with modern science to treat various skin concerns. This line in particular, Prorzema was created to aid those who suffer from Eczema, Psoriasis, Scalp issues and unstoppable flaky skin.

Let’s start with my favorite or should I say our family’s favorite; the Psorzema Creme. You see I’m not the only one who suffers from breakouts. Unfortunately my 3 year old son, Jreu also has eczema and babe will use it after he would shave to prevent razor bumps. Jreu actually gets a prescribed ointment and oil from his pediatrician but we had ran out so in between that time we was able to maintain his smooth non-irritated skin with this creme. He wasn’t scratching his skin as he normally would and the Psorzema creme ensured the skin stays moisturized.

derma e’s Psorzema Creme gets a thumbs up all across the board. I can definitely see this being a staple in our household because not only did it keep our skin ailments at bay it also kept our skin hydrated (it contains Vitamins A and E) without a heavy scent. If you or any of your loved ones suffer from eczema or psoriasis, I highly recommend this item for sure!

The Psorzema Body Wash would be my next favorite item from the items I received. This is a clear body wash that gently cleanses the skin while comforting dry and irritated skin while reducing redness. The Psorzema line is made with an herbal blend of “extracts and skin vitamins such as Neem, Burdock, Bearberry, Vitamins A and E to help soften and soothe dry, irritated, scaling skin”. This blend is the key ingredients used to provide relief without the added steroids and tars I mentioned above.

Since none of us suffer from eczema issues in or scalp I didn’t use the last two products; derma e’s Scalp Relief Shampoo & Conditioner. The shampoo claims to cleanse, deflake and soothe & nourish the scalp. It’s also sulfate free which as a healthy hair care blogger, I can appreciate. The accompanying conditioner of the line will also deflake & nourish the scalp while helping to eliminate flakiness in conjunction with detangling, improving manageability and increasing shine in your tresses.

I don’t know about you but that’s exactly what I like in a conditioner! Even though I didn’t personally use the duo, I will say if it works like the other two products I mentioned above and you suffer from scalp issues it’s definitely worth a try! I will hang on to these and probably feature in an upcoming giveaway later on.

Do you or someone you know suffer from eczema?  Share this post with a loved one you know who’s has these skin issues and looking for some non-prescription relief!  Need this type of thing in your life?  Check out derma e’s Psorzema line for an over the counter alternative that is actually good to your skin.  No worries, you can thank me later all across social media.

Thanks for the review Kay. It was thorough and thoughtful. Since I have eczema on my arms, I found it to be a great resource for options managing my skin challenges. Products that actually work without all of the gunk or heavy scents jntetest me the most.

Great review. I suffered from eczema during high school. After a visit to the dermatologist and a few prescriptions back then, it hasn’t come back.

  • I feel like I never heard of eczema until i got older. When i was younger, i dont remember anyone having it, and now that i have been exposed to it, it seems like no ones case is like another’s.

  • I’m going to look into this, my daughter still has eczema fits as well. She is only 4 so I try to get her a cure quick fast and in a hurry.

I didn’t know that derma e had an eczema/psoriasis line. That’s wonderful, and I’m glad it helps you and your family. I thought I had psoriasis but it turns out to be exfoliative keratolysis. I get it every summer primarily on my thumbs. I’m lucky it’s limited to a relatively small area but the peeling skin that peels until it bleeds prevents me from wearing nail polish in the summer, boo hoo. Last summer, I found something that helps but it doesn’t make it go away – the EK just takes its own sweet time.

I love learning about new products. Thanks for sharing! I also suffer from eczema. Funny thing it just started like 2 years ago and it’s only on my neck I was like WTH?! lol Right now I use Cortisone 10 but I’ll have to give this brand try.

  • I don’t personally suffer from eczema, but my nephew does. He’s 2 I wonder if he can use them. Great review.

  • Valerie Robinson

My daughter has really bad eczema and I certainly had no idea about this product. Thanks for sharing something new for us to explore!

  • I never thought about using an eczema cream to prevent razor bumps. Great idea!

  • Kayvona B.

My daughter has eczema and it is on and off but it’s really bad on her hands so we spot treat. I definitely should look into this!

I suffer from eczema as well! I was born with eczema and I am not 22 years old. I hadn’t had a break out in a year and now I am suffering from an outbreak on three of my fingers on my right hand. Weird, right, I know! I use steroid prescription creme and I would be in pain without it.

  • I have one little spot that I assume is eczema, and my daughter deals with it as well. I’ll look more into this. Thanks for the info!

  • Mrs. G

I don’t have eczema, but I know several people who do. Will share this post with them. Thanks!
