Play! by Sephora $10 Beauty Subscription Box | July 2017

Play! by Sephora | July 2017

I don’t know about you but I’m always down for a beauty sample so you can try it before you buy it.  Especially when it comes to those higher priced skincare and makeup items that you find at Sephora a sample can save you some coins.  Not to mention the trips back and forth to Sephora that will not only cost you gas but the possibility of spending even more money for something else.

How about Sephora is saving you trips these days by dipping their foot in the pond of beauty subscription services.  For $10 monthly, the Sephora Play box ships to your door five deluxe beauty, hair and skincare samples from Sephora’s extensive collection of beauty brands.

Just getting in the beauty world?  The Play! by Sephora box gives you inside access to online tips, tricks and tutorials of how to use the items included in your box as well as a booklet showcasing the products.

Plus if you still end up in Sephora, you know just browsing, bring in your Play Pass that’s included in the box for an additional 50 Beauty Insider points.

Here’s a look into the 5 products I received in my last Play! by Sephora box.  If you have a good 5 minutes, I also invite you to check out the unboxing video that will be embedded down below!

Bobbi Brown Eye Opening Mascara

Bobbi Brown Eye Opening Mascara ($30, 0.42 oz)

“Long-wearing mascara visibly thickens, curls and lifts lashes with a carbon-black formula.”

I’m just now starting to test this one out.  I don’t find it to be so “carbon-black” but it definitely adds some volume.  It’s cool for an everyday type of wear.

fresh beauty Rose Face Mask

fresh beauty Rose Face Mask ($25, 1 oz)

“Hydrating and toning gel mask refreshes tired, dull skin with a calming infusion of pure rosewater and rose petals.”

Now I don’t normally like an overbearing rose smell but this face mask from fresh has a only a slight hint of the scent.  What it does have is a cooling relaxing feeling that gives instant moisturization that you’ll love to slather all over your face to pamper yourself.

Caudalie Vine[Activ} Glow Activating Anti-Wrinkle Serum

Caudalie Vine[Activ} Glow Activating Anti-Wrinkle Serum ($52, 1 oz)

“Highly concentrated pollution protection serum revealsa youthful glow while helping to visibly smooth fine lines.”

Now if you’ve checked out the previous Skincare Sunday you should already know how I absolutely LOVE my Caudalie Vinsource SOS Thirst Quenching Serum.  If so you can understand exactly how excited I am to get this deluxe sample of a new serum to try!  Besides, I’m running a little low on my current serum so I got this in My Everyday Skincare Drawer already on standby!  I’m sure you’ll be hearing more about it in an upcoming Empties or hopefully Favorites post because you’re signed up here right?!

tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick in Set Sail

tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick in Set Sail ($21, .12 oz)

“Long-lasting yet moisture-rich lipstick softens and smooths lips while providing full-coverage color.”

In an effort not to be a complete hoarder  (have you seen My Makeup Collection – don’t judge me, I’m a blogger and I’m sensitive about my sh–), I haven’t really purchased any new lipsticks lately.  This sample tho?!  It has completely scratched that itch I was having.  I wore this lipstick to work the other day and it is so bomb!

For my deep skin tone it comes off as a beautiful nude color.  FYI – I line ALL my nudes with a brown lip liner.  This day I chose MAC Cosmetics’ Chestnut to line and Pitch from Colourpop Cosmetics to fill in the corners and shade the lips a bit.  Such a good combo and I know I will be rocking this for dayz!

The description includes this as a full-coverage color but for me I did apply repeatedly to get the full saturation of color that I wanted.  Again this could be due to the lip liner but I think it’s more so the pigmentation of my lips.  The lasting power, comfortableness on the lips and bomb a$$ color more than make up for it though!

Briogeo Rosaeco Milk Reparative Leave-in Conditioning Spray

Briogeo Rosaeco Milk Reparative Leave-in Conditioning Spray ($20, 5 oz)

“Ultra-light leave in conditioning spray delivers non greasy moisture without weighing down hair.”

I’ve never personally tried this product or anything from Briogeo for that matter, but I’ve heard good things. Plus, I’m always down for a leave-in treatment.

Clean Reserve - Sueded Oud

Fragrance of the Month | Clean Reserve – Sueded Oud ($95, 3.4 oz)

“This creamy and sophisticated scent puts a new twist on a traditional heavy oud fragrance with its light, fresh notes.”  Are you a fan of fresh and light scents?! You’d love this fragrance.

The same day I got this box I had to jump on camera (or my iPhone I should say) to film a quick unboxing video for the Play! by Sephora box of July 2017.  I’d love for you to check it out!

Let me know if you tried anything of these products before?  I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments and as always you can
