You may remember a few weeks back I showed you swatches of the blushes I purchased from ColourPop Cosmetics. I mentioned in that post that that was actually my second order that I placed from the company, the first one being what I absolutely love, LIPPIES!!!
At $5 a pop you can kind of go crazy ordering from the wide shade selection of Lippie Stix and their matching Lippie Pencils over on ColourPop.com. Well at least I did. In total I ended up with 15 shades from their selection. Since then I’ve been wearing my ColourPop lippie stix like nobody’s business!!! And you know I love my purples, I can’t decide which is my favorite because everytime I wear one I say that’s it!
Except for the lighter shades like Lumiere, one application can last me a full day, even after eating and drinking my coffee. Of course if I was going for that full opacity if needed I would touch up but trust me, it’s not even necessary. You definitely get your money’s worth with these. I’m definitely enjoying my purchase. I mean look at these babies, and these are just a few of my faves from the bunch.
Application is super smooth, and you don’t need to go over it multiple times to get its true color (well maybe for those lighter shades I mentioned before but that’s because my lips are pretty pigmented already). i’ve had no issues with wear such as dry lips You can see from the swatches in the video, the color payoff is amazing! As an added bonus, all of the hippie stix & liners are vegan!!
Even more exciting, ColourPop tends to release new shades pretty frequently, I know there were some Limited Edition items including bundled sets over the holidays . They have a whole new selection of pastel colors (27 to be exact!) of their products for their Spring 2015 Pastel Punch Collection. Here are some photos of their new Spring 2015 collection of eyeshadows, lippies and blushes that they featured on their Instagram feed.
Of course with the good comes the bad….
The ColourPop products are made in the United States so it’s good to support independent homegrown companies. One negative if any I have to say is the customer service could use some improvement. The week I ordered I know it was a busy week for them since it was actually the week they were launching their Super Shock Cheek Blushes but that wasn’t until Friday. My original order was placed on the Tuesday 2/10/2015 but I didn’t receive shipping notification until a full week after that on the 17th. Me and some of the girls from our Facebook groups was feenin’ for our orders to come.
Even worst, I made an error when ordering. I wanted to get a matching lippie pencil to go with one of the hippie stix but instead I ordered two of the same stix. Well I realized this and contacted customer service in plenty of time while the ordered remained to be “processing” but when the package was received the error still remained. Still to this day have yet to receive a response fro customer service. Not to mention how much time it took to get to me here in New York from California. Needless to say their customer service definitely has room for improvement.
Even though I was disappointed with their customer service, when I actually received all my goodies the bad feelings went away. I was just happy to have my hands on these babies. And even though I did the live swatching video I mentioned earlier, I still figured I’d swatch some of them for you beauties in this post with some dupe colors you may have been wondering about for reference purposes. I only did the pinks and purples for now but let me know if you want to see the nudes and reds with color comparisons as well.
Do you see any possible dupes? I know I see about 2 or 3. Let me know if you’d like a separate video just on the dupes from the bunch. Until then you can always check out the original swatching video below to see all 15 of my ColourPop Lippie Stix AND the 2 lippie pencils I picked up.
Have you gone crazy for ColourPop yet? What are some of your favorites???
If ColourPop is still new to you, be sure to sign up on their site to receive special discounts, offers & promotions as well as take advantage of their Free Shipping in the United States on orders of $30 or more. They also ship internationally but from what I’ve heard, those are pretty prices to pay but for such a great product at a great price it may be worth it to get your friends together and place a large order to split the shipping fees. Just saying, that’s what this makeup junkie would do.
Until next time, Stay Blessed Beauties
