Introducing Cocotique | The Beauty Subscription Box for Black Women

The beauty lover in me just loves to try out new products but the way my pockets is set up…..

That’s why I like monthly subscription boxes; they give you the opportunity to try out the latest products in the beauty world without breaking the bank.  Enter Cocotique, the latest beauty subscription box I’ve been hearing talks of in the online beauty communities.

I’ve been a part of beauty subscription services in the past and ended up canceling just because I didn’t feel like I was receive products I wanted to actually use.  It was a rare occasion that I actually enjoyed every product in a bag (the last time where I was pleased was my September Ipsy bag,).  Still, shortly after I ended the service because I just wasn’t satisfied with the selections being chosen for me, no matter how many times I took their survey.

What makes the Cocotique beauty subscription box unique is the fact that the products actually cater towards black women.  From hair and skin care to perfumes and cosmetics, they offer products that each time I saw a Cocotique advertisement, I’d be like oh okay!  They’ve featured many of our favorite beauty brands such as Milani, ApHogee, Mizani, Shea Moisture, Alikay Naturals, Black Opal and more (just to name a few).  With products from some of the best in beauty, when I was offered the chance to review this subscription box I was like sign me up!!!  And I think you may want to as well.

Save 10% on your first month's box!

For the May Cocotique box, they’re offering you beauties a 10% discount along with free shipping.  Next month’s box is said to have 3 full size products, including one of the New Absolute New York Nicka K Ultra Slick Lipsticks, along with 6 deluxe sample size items!!!  As an added bonus you’ll also get a year subscription to Essence Magazine.  All this for $18!!!

Thanks for sharing this. I love the idea of subscription boxes but have never signed up for one.

  • Joyce Brewer

Subscription boxes have turned me on to beauty & hair care products I wouldn’t have tried on my own.

  • I’ve not tried subscription boxes but I know they are all the rage. I’m so simple in that regard I would probably end up with boxes or items I’ve never even tried. lol

  • Christine St.Vil

Funny enough, I’ve partnered with Cocotique on a couple of Twitter party giveaways but haven’t had the pleasure of getting one of their boxes. I’ve never tried subscription boxes for the reason you mentioned above. But I love what Dana is doing and I’m thinking I definitely need to try this one.

This is a great idea. It is so good to have a box dedicated to people of color and their unique needs. Sounds like something I may have to try!

Oooh, this box looks perfect for me! I will be subscribing eventually! Thanks for sharing, can’t wait to hear your reviews about the products.

I won a Cocotique box in a giveaway a year or so ago and I liked the makeup samples that it included. I wasn’t a huge fan of the hair products but I’d definitely like to try out more makeup.

  • You are soooo right! That packaging is everything! Also, I’m feeling you about the sample sizes they send in these boxes. What am I supposed to figure out with this little packet of (whatever it is….moisturizer, shampoo, etc.)!! LOL. All these other boxes should take notes from Cocotique! Can you let me know how that Shea Moisture works?! My hair doesn’t really like Shea Moisture products, but that one is called superfruit, so I was interested in it!!

Hi Kay! I love your review and your commentary. You are soooo funny! I would like to try Cocotique, I love beauty boxes! 🙂

  • Love your video made me chuckle. I heard a lot about Cocotique and you’re right about the packaging.

  • Ursula Ball

Wow, I didn’t know it this box existed 🙂 The only box that I know but I don’t subscribed because I do relaxed hair is CurlBox but great to know another beauty box specific to African-American hair is on the scene!
