ApHogee 2 Minute Keratin Reconstructor

When it comes to protein my hair doesn’t always necessarily agree with it; my mane doesn’t really like hard protein treatments.  That’s why with  finding a protein treatment that is light but still effective I have to keep it in the routine.  Enter the treatment I have purchased multiple times throughout my hair journey, the ApHogee 2 Minute Keratin Reconstructor.

I found out the hard way that it was necessary for my hair to have the ApHogee.  Back in December I did my texlaxing process so it’s at that time more than ever did I need some kind of protein treatment in my regime.  Never heard of texlaxing???  No worries I broke it down for you here.

Even though texlaxing is a gentler process than normal relaxing, you are still breaking down the proteins in your hair to alter the curl pattern in your hair and making it straighter.  ApHogee’s products balances the pH balance in your hair and helps to restore the broken down proteins.

From the ApHoghee website

“This concentrated blend of keratin amino acids, botanical oils, and vitamins does wonders to restore strength and softness to hair that requires a deep, penetrating treatment.  It is recommended on tinted, bleached or relaxed hair.”

Perfume Subscription Service

The bottle that I had during my texlaxing lasted about 2-3 washes post relaxer so by mid January I was all out.  What was even worst was my local beauty supply store was all out AND hadn’t restocked until maybe about 3 or 4 weeks later.  I thought I can handle it with other products but I was wrong.  My hair was shedding like nobody’s business and my mane was missing it’s beloved 2-5 minute loving it received from the ApHoghee 2 Minute Reconstructor.

When I finally got my bottle I immediately noticed a difference in my hair after its first wash session.  After shampooing my hair I apply the Aphoghee and let it sink in for a few minutes while I maybe wash my face or do something else while I’m in the shower.  I don’t bother with a shower cap but I always keep my hair clipped up so no water prematurely gets removed.  Once the time has passed I am able to easily finger detangle my hair

And that’s even before I rinse and add my instant conditioner.  Yes the ApHogee 2 Minute Reconstructor is that good!

The latest batch of shedding from 1 week old braids that I wore. Big difference from what you see in the Prepoo video!!!

After using it my hair feels stronger and is more manageable.   Shedding has reduced significantly using this in conjunction with the Pura d’or Conditioner which I’ve been using as a prepoo conditioner as of late (click here to see my prepoo process).  My hair is definitely reacting positively to getting this product back into its regime.

The ApHogee 2 Minute Keratin Reconstructor is definitely another one of my Holy Grail Hair Care products (if you missed some of the others check here for my HG moisturizer, leave in, shampoo and some natural oils my hair loves too).

You know the other day on Twitter I tagged you about a conditioner. I like the 2 minute reconstructor too and it smells so good. I’m going to pick some up. Happy Friday Kay!

    • Kay’s Ways

I KNOWWW!!! And i straight forgot to mention this one because I’m always trying new conditioners but this right here is definitely a necessity.

  • I have a Aphogee reconstructor that I use, but it’s been a while. Im relaxed to, so I’ll have to check out your textlaxing posts to learn more about it.

    • Kay’s Ways

I love texlaxing, my hair has gotten so much thicker and healthier since I’ve been using this texlaxing method. ApHogee products are the truth! Helps to keep our hair strong

  • The 2 Minute Keratin Reconstructor sounds like a good idea for a quick, light protein treatment. I’ve tried things like henna, but my hair didn’t really like them. I’ll be sure to give it a try.

    • Kay’s Ways

Absolutely. I’ve always wanted to try it but was too scared. This i gentle enough for my hair so I can use it pretty often without any worries and know my hair is being taken care of

  • I have heard so many great things about the 2 Minute reconstructor. I used the regular Aphogee a few years ago and it was great. My hair loves a good deep conditioner.

    • Kay’s Ways

You already know how necessary a good conditioner is! This one provides a nice quick in between treatment to strengthen and then we can still get the moisture from a follow up instant conditioner, it’s win win!

  • I use many different products but Quidad makes some of my favorites. I love a great deep conditioner so I’ll definitely have to check this out.

    • Kay’s Ways

ApHogee products won’t steer you wrong. I haven’t tried any Quidad but I’ve heard great things. Would love to try them out too.

  • I love this product! I used to live by it when my hair was relaxed. Have you tried Aubrey Organics GPB. It’s all natural and works a lot better than the reconstructor.

I tried this once a while ago and can’t really remember how I liked it…might pick it up again.
